【Gather Together, Clean the River】
Some of garbage that people discard float to the sea along the rivers, and some of them become marine debris or leave at the beach. We are fully aware that appropriate protective action cannot be delayed. On Saturday, May 17, 2025, DEKRA iST and S.O.W. Hsinchu banded together, and hosted a “Protect the Rivers” event. DEKRA iST staff and their families were invited to clean up the banks of the Touqian River in Hsinchu, to contribute to preserving the local river ecosystem.
In the beginning, under the guidance of the S.O.W. Hsinchu, the professional lecture stated a safety guideline and an environmental instruction & notice. The briefing covered the surrounding ecology of the Touqian River, as well as key safety notes and waste-sorting guidelines for the cleanup. A big thank you to all DEKRA iST staff and their families—nearly 100 participants across generations—who showed their care for the environment through real, hands-on action!

Along the banks of the Touqian River, DEKRA iST staff and their families joined hands to take real action for the environment. With dedication and teamwork, they combed through grass, shaded trees, and even muddy areas to collect hidden trash. Beyond the usual plastic bottles, juice packs, cartons, and PVC pipes, they were surprised to uncover large discarded items like a toilet and a mattress. These improperly dumped wastes not only spoil the natural landscape but also pose serious threats to the river’s delicate ecosystem.

Despite the heat, DEKRA iST staff and families stood strong for the Touqian River. A cleanup that became a lesson in action—and a statement of what real environmental commitment looks like.
