Driven by the rapid growth in AI servers, liquid cooling has become essential. As AI computing performance grows up continuously, server products face massive power consumption and heat challenges.
When high-performance semiconductors—xPUs such as GPUs, TPUs, and CPUs—consume significant electricity during computation, that energy is inevitably converted into heat. Without efficient thermal dissipation, this heat accumulates, causing system temperatures to rise to critical levels. The result: degraded performance, potential component failure, and compromised system reliability.
Liquid Cooling or Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC), primarily utilizes components such as Cold Plate, Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs), Coolant Distribution Manifolds (CDMs), chillers, and rear door heat exchangers (RDHx) or fan-assisted rear doors to achieve heat dissipation and temperature reduction in the liquid cooling system. Each key component is crucial. A system can only perform effectively when the reliability of each individual component is ensured.
For liquid cooling systems, DEKRA iST offers corresponding solutions to ensure the reliability and safety of critical components.

To ensure that the liquid cooling system can support AI servers operating stably under high intensity conditions, a comprehensive reliability testing during the product design validation (DV) phase is essential. This testing helps evaluate the system’s performance under prolonged, high-load, and extreme environmental conditions. By discovering possible design shortcomings sooner, we can implement enhancements and optimizations that help the system last longer.
